Tamiya Avante Black – 1988 was awesome!

In 1988 many of you weren’t born. If you were, and you were racing RC cars when Tamiya released the Avante you were excited. Back then Yokomo and Schumacher 4WD kits dominated the race tracks, but Tamiya’s crazy new machine made you look at the rubber bands holding the front together of your Schumacher as a bit archaic. The Avante looked like a spaceship, and still does. Sure it’s got 101 parts per arm, and it’s motor will induce serious torque steer, but there is something about it that looks amazing. Tamiya re-released the Avante kits in full glory, and this Black version sure is pretty…we’re still thinking about what we should do with it. If you have ideas post them on our Facebook page, or email derek@vrcmag.com!
